Well, we definitely are living in interesting times!
We are living in an era of calling right wrong and wrong right. A time where it's "all about me"! How much longer do you think we can survive as a society, a nation?
Just this weekend one of the primary presidential candidates "came clean" in his "all about me" mistake!?! I don't know about you but how can he call an extra-marital affair with a woman on the campaign trail and an all too possible "love child" with a supportive wife, who just happens to have incurable cancer, by his side campaigning for him, a mistake. Webster defines a mistake as an error or fault in action, judgment, perception, understanding, etc.
Again, I don't know about you, but to me the office of president is one of leadership, to be a statesman. So, I went back to Webster's.... leadership - the office, position, or capacity of a leader; guidance. Ability to lead, exert authority, etc. Just what guidance or authority would this presidential want-to-be offer.
And yes again, I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the double standard in our political parties when it comes to infidelity. Why is it the liberals say that it doesn't matter regarding a persons personal chananagines. And why is it "these" women, spouses, of "these" men continue to stand by their man (don't think this is what Tammy Wynett had in mind with her song!). What a double standard and so much for the women's movement. Wasn't the women's movement about equality? Equality would include respect for women right? While I would not be a proponent of divorce. One needs to ask the question, when these women stay with these men, showing no respect for the woman they are married to....isn't this the height of humiliation and the wife being complicit? These women need to know they hurt all women when they do not call their spouses into account for their actions.
Lastly, we need to call a spade a spade. Think about it before your next conversation at the "water cooler"!

I would agree with the pretty face & perfect hair! My comments regarding the "spouses" was a generic comment, not necessarily specific to any one spouse. I just find it sad that the women's movement has hurt the very object of their movement by not speaking out against the disrespect to "these" spouses. Therefore, hypocrisy! But then maybe the leaders of the womens movement never really had in mind the betterment of women, but only to use women for their own betterment.
